"Back to the Ancestors"
(This Sabbat is dedicated to our Queen of Samhain and dear Priestess Sister, Pannthera, who crossed the veil on Summer Solstice 2024.)
1) OUR THEME:
This year our theme is Honoring the Ancestors and Inviting them to step through the veil and join us for a spell! To make them feel at home, we will craft a cozy little “Spirit House” or “Air B&B” guest house for them to visit with us while the veil between the worlds is thin.
To invite their sharing of joyful and loving memories, we will fill our houses with Love Letters and other sacred offerings to honor them.
HOMEWORK: If you’d like to plan ahead, think about which special ancestor (or pet or friend or someone in history you admired) that you would like to dedicate your Spirit House to. You may also want to pre-draft a short Love Letter ahead of time and bring that with you along with 6-8 wallet sized photos (See more instructions on photo prep in the “Craft” segment below). The note and photos along with offerings will be placed inside the house to encourage our thoughtful communion with our ancestor.

2) OUR CRAFT: WHAT WE WILL BE DOING:
We will be making fun little Spirit Houses, (inspired by traditions from Southeast Asian cultures!) (See photos.) Traditional Spirit Houses are large and elaborate constructions, but since we are practical witches, ours will be made of pre-cut, heavy card stock that we will be supplying to everyone–1 house per attendee. (See photos.)
Our crafting will consist of cutting out the photos you bring of your ancestor (or ancestors) and placing them behind the windows, then decorating the facades of the houses with stickers and tokens. There are 4 different house “floorplans” to choose from. Each one has about 6-9 windows to play with. You can fill the windows with photos, or leave them open and simply roll up the photos to place inside the house.
PHOTO PREP: If you can, bring a page of wallet sized pics (about 2”wide x 3”hi) of your ancestor(s). If you can size the photos so that the head in the picture is about 1” wide, that would be the best size to fit through most of the windows.
If you can’t size or print out wallet size photos, you can email 1-2 photos, jpegs only please, to Amalya (by Oct 22 and she can print them ahead of time for you).
3) REGARDING FOOD: Evening TREATS will be provided by the Goddess Studio! (So eat an early dinner before ya come!) No Potluck this time!
4) THINGS TO EXPECT: sharing lore, meditation, ceremony, sisterhood, fire circle and lots of Trickster magick!
5) WEAR: Come in your Favorite Dark Goddess or Witchy costume, or in whatever guise you desire to be! Bring a jacket as we will be outside most of the night!
6) TIME: 4:45 - 10:00 pm. Please arrive by 4:30 to give yourself enough time to settle in and take pictures! Circle will start at 5:00. This is a progressive event, please be on time. Also, Gate closes at 5:30, see (9) below.

You can honor these events financially and energetically by making a payment in advance, via the PayPal link (see underlined link above or click the PayPal icon) or by remembering to make your contribution at the door: Cash, or checks (payable to Amy Peck--not Goddess Studio) are preferred, but we can also take VENMO at the door. (@AmalyaGoddess). (NOTE: We can no longer take credit cards at the door. Credit cards only accepted via PayPal in advance.)
*If you really want to come and can't make a $30 contribution, please contact Amalya directly in advance for other options. Also, on the other hand, if you'd like to donate additional funds for a scholarship for another goddess, please contact Amalya as well.
CANCELLATION POLICY if you have pre-paid, you will be refunded if you notify Amalya 24 hrs prior to the event. (No refunds for no-shows. Payments cannot be transferred to another event. Thank you for your understanding.)

8) PLEASE RSVP:
IMPORTANT: PLEASE RSVP "Yes" if you can commit to coming! An RSVP is a must to reserve your space, and most importantly to secure your craft materials, and to receive the final "Delightful Details and Directions" email which will be sent to you a few days before the event. Your RSVP is taken very seriously. These events mean alot to us and we devote significant time, energy and money to producing these high quality and meaningful gatherings eight times a year. Unfortunately, due to the rising number of people who RSVP "yes" and then don't show, we have been overbuying supplies and not able to cover our costs. "No shows" are very hard on us, not only financially, but emotionally and energetically as well. If you cannot come after you have rsvp'd "yes", then please simply change your rsvp to "NO" as soon as possible. Also, if you are bringing a guest, please let us know their names too! Thank you for honoring your commitment with integrity, your Goddess Mamas really appreciate it.
9) LOCATION/GATE/PARKING: The Goddess Studio of Escondido. PLEASE RSVP to get address, gate code and parking instructions! The Goddess Studio is on the private property of Amy (Amalya) & Dennis Peck in a gated, residential neighborhood, in Escondido, CA.
