Born in Chicago, Lisa Bonneau has been involved in the arts from a very young age. She began her artistic career as a dancer, and after a professional career spanning 30 years, she became interested in Middle Eastern music and fell in love with the exotic rhythms played on the Doumbek. She performed as a percussionist with several bands ranging from Turkish Rock to New Age Jazz. She is the accompanist for Middle Eastern dancers, provides drum lessons, and a member of the Temple Weavers performance group . She is also the creator of a collection of jewelry, "Lisbon", which is sold nationally .
(See Lisa’s MySpace page for her jewelry… www.myspace.com/lisbonjewelry) |

Lisa will offer instruction in very basic techniques, and then we will imitate our natural innate rhythm, and the rhythm we have "learned" throughout our lives, onto drums and percussive instruments. Through call/ answer, word association, and imitation of body movement (walking, stomping, clapping, snapping, dance steps) we will create music! Lisa is a wonderful instructor and Priestess of the Drum and this will be a powerful time of primal magic! Join US! Contact Lisa to RSVP!
